Overview
We are looking for an experienced Digital Workplace Architect to define, design, and govern a secure, scalable, and user-centric digital workplace ecosystem.
This role is strategic in nature, acting as a bridge between business needs and technology, ensuring that digital workplace solutions enhance productivity, meet compliance standards, and align with long-term digital transformation objectives.
The position involves contributing to both architectural governance and future workplace strategy, with a focus on modern, cloud-based workplace capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Solution Design
- Design and define end-to-end digital workplace architecture aligned with security and enterprise standards
- Produce architecture diagrams and technical documentation across workplace components such as:
- Endpoints (Windows, iOS)
- Messaging infrastructure (Exchange, mail routing)
- Collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint)
- Cloud services (Azure, AVD, Windows 365, identity & access management)
- Ensure alignment with security policies, compliance requirements, and architectural standards
- Develop and maintain high-level designs, reference architectures, and best practices
Strategy & Innovation
- Contribute to the digital workplace roadmap, aligned with a cloud-first and modern workplace strategy
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies such as Cloud PC, Microsoft Copilot, and advanced endpoint controls
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the digital workplace ecosystem
Governance & Collaboration
- Support and guide engineering and operations teams during implementation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business, IT, and external partners
- Ensure proper application of architecture governance and design standards
- Facilitate architectural discussions and contribute to decision-making processes
Required Experience & Skills
Technical Expertise
- Strong experience in Digital Workplace and IT Infrastructure projects
- Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Copilot)
- Advanced knowledge of Azure services, including:
- Azure Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID
- Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
- Windows 365 (Cloud PC)
- Conditional Access policies
- Intune and endpoint management
- Solid understanding of security frameworks:
- Endpoint security
- Zero Trust architecture
- Passwordless authentication
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (VPN, VLAN, NAC, zoning, endpoints)
- Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Infrastructure as Code concepts, DEX tools)
- Strong ability to produce detailed architectural documentation
Professional Experience
- Proven experience in Digital Workplace architecture within complex IT environments
- Experience working in high-security environments (e.g. finance, regulated industries)
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with business stakeholders, architects, and security teams
Soft Skills
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear insights
- Excellent facilitation and stakeholder management capabilities
- Leadership mindset with the ability to guide cross-functional teams
- Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach
- Team player with a collaborative and proactive attitude
Languages
- Dutch or French: fluent (native or bilingual proficiency)
